If you wish your keyboard's keys were laid out just a tad bit differently, you can change it around with a keyboard remapper. Windows users have a few to choose from, but the easiest to use is certainly KeyTweak, which presents you with a full, visual keyboard layout and multiple methods for changing it.
Update: KeyTweak's home page seems to be down, with no indication of whether the program has been abandoned or anything. However, it's still available from software sites like Major Geeks, so we've updated our link to the download page below. KeyTweak makes remapping keys a cinch, whether you're an experienced user or a beginner. You can click on the key you want to change using a visual layout of your keyboard, then select the new function from a list, or use its "Teach Mode" to remap just by pressing the desired keys.
Support for media keys is especially nice, and you can restore all the defaults with a single button click, in case something goes wrong.
Simply put, KeyTweak is the easiest remapper out there. Its only real downside is that you have to install the program—you can't just run a portable version. Other than that, it's about as good as it gets. It provides a visual keyboard layout, letting you click on keys and choose their new function via a dropdown. Its big advantage over KeyTweak is that it's available as a portable app, which means you don't need to install anything.
Just extract the zip file anywhere you want and run the program. SharpKeys is another great portable key tweaker, which doesn't include a visual layout—just a simple two column view that lets you remap your keys. It isn't quite as easy to use as KeyTweak or MapKeyboard, but it works great, and doesn't require any installation, which is a big plus. If you want to change the entire layout of your keyboard rather than just a few keys, you probably want something more like the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator.
You can create a new layout from scratch, base one on an existing popular layout, and otherwise change the entire keyboard. It's great for adding new language support to Windows, adding symbols to your keyboard, or trying something like the Dvorak layout for faster typing. The side buttons were textured helping you know your thumb placement. Mouse was crisp when it worked.
Cons: The only downside that I found was that it stopped working after 2 months. Had to unplug the mouse from my laptop for transport and when I plugged it back in windows says that it doesn't recognize what the USB device is anymore.
Overall Review: I am pretty disappointed because I really liked the feel and operation of this mouse and all my other Corsair products are super solid. Pros: Comfortable and easy to use. RGB lighting works great with Icue software. Pros: The extra 12 buttons are really nice to have. I play games like Ark and Rust and the scimitar is a perfect match.
The dpi on this mouse is all you will ever need. Cons: The mouse at first felt wonky due to its wide body but over time you get comfortable with it.
Overall Review: This mouse is very nice and has its purposes. I use softwares like Unreal Engine and remapping is so easy; i also play games like Ark and Rust and this mouse fits perfect.
Cons: When windows loads, it takes a little bit to get the settings running so the mouse may function weird while logging in. Tried a few fixes but haven't seemed to remedy it. Doesn't last long though and more of a mild inconvenience. Pros: - Really comfortable - Highly responsive - High customizability - Easy to use software.
Cons: - Poor quality - Hard to clean - Software sometimes breaks when updating Windows can be fixed by freshly reinstalling software. Well, that's easy, barely had it for 8 months and the scroll wheel broke. I can still click the middle mouse button but if I want to use it to scroll, then well, not happening. Pros: Cool lighting, nice grip, and tons of buttons.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.

How do I reassign hot keys for my keyboard?
Should this be about a game, I'd recommend posting on the game's own forums. Last edited by cpt. Background image shape css
I paid more attention to the word "scimitar" than "Corsair", it seems. Last edited by Teutep ; 6 Mar, am. If you haven't found the solution already, I figured it out a few days back. In corsair utility engine add an action and change it from a macro to a remap key.
Hawke View Profile View Posts. I had the same issue, restarting my PC would reset the mouse and allow the buttons to work again. I had an instance today and updated the Utility Engine you must go through their site and manually download it as their update button in the engine itself doesn't workand after updating, the buttons worked. I don't know if this was because the issue was fixed in a later update or if the update served as a reset for the mouse since all files had to be deleted and reinstalled.
It's at least worth a shot. I am aware that I necro'd a fairly old post. This was mainly for anyone else who is still encountering this issue and is looking for a solution, as this thread is in the top 3 results when searching google. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 6 Mar, am.

For reference, here is my left-handed computer gaming configuration and the Home key I use to move forward in most computer games:.
You can learn more about my left-handed gaming keyboard setup here. After the steps are complete the computer will think the Home Key is the Up Arrow key. Go to the next step. Look to the right of the Actions menu the picture of your keyboard and click on the keyboard key you want to remap.
It should now be highlighted. Here I have clicked on the Home key so it is highlighted in yellow as shown. By default, it has Macros selected. Once your key group is chosen it will populate the window with the names of the keys and radio buttons you can select for that group. For this example, I have clicked on the Up Arrow radio button. The change is now applied. Now you can verify the change has taken effect under the Actions menu. Here it shows Remap Enhanced keys 1 [ Home ].
Simply click on the Trash Icon and start over. You will notice it appears as the Up Arrow but actually it is the Home key that I pressed.

With a whole lot of lighting and CUE integration, Corsair just might help you keep your button assignments under control. Online games often have an unrealistic expectation of human anatomy and ergonomics.Link to ects grading table
You need to have a hand with 12 fingers, capable of extending over 8-inchs, another hand to set modifiers and select party members with F-Keys, also doubling up use with the numpad, map, inventory management and so on, oh and a mouse to look around and click things; ideally, you need 3 hands. Good thing we have gaming mice that can help alleviate the complications of control overload. A bit over the top for some, but invaluable when you are confronted with an archaic game requiring more abilities and hot-keys than is ergonomically possible.
They are very specialized devices that only a few would likely need; but if you are serious about your games — or just want a whole bunch of macros at your literal finger tips, then these mice certainly have an appeal. Corsair has attempted an MMO mouse before with the M90, reviewed a few years agowhich was updated to the M95 later on. At the time, it was interesting to see such an odd button layout, placing buttons in a styled circular array around the thumb.
It lacked a certain amount of precision due to clicking buttons off-center, often resulting in nothing happening. The M95 attempted to fix this with some minor adjustments to help sharpen up those off-center clicks.Anastasia tour bootleg
The party trick? The button array can be slid back and forth to accommodate different sized hands and natural thumb positioning. Throw in a bunch of LED arrays that can be set to any color, and we have disco and dance mat in a mouse. Many of the hardware features we see with the Scimitar are a standard affair with a premium mouse. I say standard, but some are bordering on the insane at this point. Take for example, the rather extreme 12, DPI laser sensor.
There are five other buttons, including two DPI selectors which can be re-purposed as profile switchers complete with a different DPI. One curious change compared to previous Corsair mice is the largely plastic construction. The Scimitar RGB has an aluminum core in the center, where the sensor and key grid slide against, but the rest of it is of a rigid plastic. How to REASSIGN Side buttons on MOUSE Windows 10 - (Remap Any Mouse Button!)
The right-side has a rubberized textured grip which prevents accidental sliding. There are five different lighting zones, each can be set to specific colors and patterns through the Corsair Utility Engine — CUE.
